Bob was an Americana giant who passed away in 1999 and then again in 2014. He fronted a variety of bands in the American southwest, including Grand Theft Otto, The Gasoline, Blue Hotel, and The Big Vanish. He also worked on and off for years with some longtime pals in the Eddy Band. His solo work featured his once in a generation voice and way too much reverb.

He wrote and recorded more than 300 songs and beat at the mainstream radio and record label door for years without success.

When he died, fans from around Texas crowded the gate to his Oak Cliff compound. When asked why his death meant so much to so many, one fan replied, "He kissed all the girls. He kissed all the girls and made them cry."
